Wish List I

One day I will own a fabulous walk in close but in the meantime I enjoy fantasizing about what I’d fill my closet with. And ’tis the season (the fashion week season that is) to write part 1 of my wish list.

1. Skirt (Look 1W) from SS15 wEIRD collection.

The structure on the skirt is very heavy, but interesting. Because of the complicated lines I don’t know if I could pull it off, but I would definitely love a chance to try.

2. Bag from Ikire Jones’ SS16 collection.

The’& Other Stories By Our Stolen Children’collection comes accompanied with a short story

“The collection pays homage to African children all over the world whose lives were tragically shortened by domestic terrorism, disease and by the perils of migration,”

Walé Oyéjidé, creative director at Ikire Jones explains.
I have mixed feelings about the short story that accompanies the collection, but I appreciate the positive use of his public platform. I am an unsure about the short story but, this bag speaks to me and the walk in closet I am destined to have.

3. Skirt suit from Stylista’s Wild collection.

Stylista is a ready-to-wear clothing brand based in Accra. The fashion house’s specialty is tailored dress, skirts and jackets using complex textile prints to  create wearable works of art, and I desperately want one of them.
